About me
Melinda Waffle, who has a masters in Educational Technology, taught high school before moving into a district technology coordinator role in 2003 which was solely responsible for helping teachers rethink their classroom and curriculum through technology use. After eight years of serving a single district, she moved on to providing similar training and coaching for school districts across two counties while working for Calhoun Intermediate School District, and being a part of Michigan state workgroups for Open Educational Resources (OER), Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students (MITECS), and Michigan Computer Science Standards (CSS). She spent countless hours helping teachers learn how to teach in virtual and blended classrooms during a pandemic, until deciding to explore other opportunities in 2021. Since the summer of 2021 Melinda has been rekindling her passion around life-long learning by helping coordinate and provide educators opportunities for free, accessible and quality learning experiences as the Professional Learning Coordinator for REMC Association, an educational non-profit organization serving the Michigan educational community.
